Tax residency certificate
Freepik is a tax resident of Spain. If your organization requires a certificate of tax residency, you can download it directly. This document is commonly needed for:
- Tax treaty benefits: to confirm Freepik's tax residency when applying for reduced withholding tax rates under a bilateral tax treaty between Spain and your country.
- Withholding tax exemptions: to provide to your finance team or tax authority as proof that Freepik is a Spanish tax resident and should not be subject to local withholding.
- Vendor onboarding: many enterprise procurement processes require a tax residency certificate as part of the vendor registration package.
- Internal compliance: for your organization's records when working with international vendors.
Download the Freepik Company Tax Residency Certificate.
The certificate confirms that Freepik Company, S.L. is a tax resident of Spain and is subject to Spanish tax law. It is issued by the Spanish tax authority (Agencia Tributaria).
W-8BEN-E form
Organizations based in the United States often require a W-8BEN-E form (Certificate of Status of Beneficial Owner for United States Tax Withholding and Reporting) from foreign vendors. This form confirms the vendor's non-U.S. tax status and allows the U.S. entity to apply the correct withholding tax rate.
Key facts about Freepik's W-8BEN-E:
- Freepik is a Spanish entity, not a U.S. taxpayer.
- Spain and the U.S. have a bilateral tax treaty that may reduce or eliminate withholding tax on certain types of payments.
- The W-8BEN-E form is valid for three calendar years from the date of signing, unless circumstances change.
- Freepik provides a completed W-8BEN-E on request for enterprise and business customers.
To request Freepik's W-8BEN-E form, contact Customer Service and specify that you need the form for U.S. tax withholding purposes. Include your company name and any specific compliance requirements.
VAT on your invoices
How VAT (Value Added Tax) is applied to your Freepik invoices depends on your location and whether you have provided a valid VAT number.
European Union subscribers
Business subscribers (with VAT number): if you are a registered business in the EU and have entered a valid VAT number in your billing details, the EU reverse charge mechanism applies. VAT is not charged on your invoice. Instead, you are responsible for declaring and paying VAT in your own country according to local rules. Your invoice will show the note "Reverse charge: customer to account for VAT."
Personal subscribers (without VAT number): if you do not provide a VAT number, or if you are subscribing as an individual (not a business), VAT is charged at the applicable rate for your country. The VAT rate varies by EU member state (typically 19% to 25%).
Spanish subscribers: Spanish subscribers are always charged Spanish VAT (21%) regardless of whether a VAT number is provided, since both Freepik and the subscriber are in the same country.
Non-EU subscribers
For subscribers outside the European Union, VAT is generally not charged on Freepik invoices. However, you may be subject to local taxes (GST, sales tax, withholding tax) in your own country. Consult your local tax advisor for guidance.

Region-specific tax notes
India
If you are an Indian business, make sure to provide your GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number) in the billing details to ensure correct tax treatment on your invoices. Some payment and subscription management features may work differently for Indian subscribers due to RBI (Reserve Bank of India) regulations on recurring international payments.
United States
Sales tax may be applied depending on your state. Freepik collects and remits sales tax where required by law. The applicable amount is shown at checkout before you confirm payment.
United Kingdom
UK subscribers may be charged VAT at 20% on their invoices. If you are a VAT-registered business, you can reclaim this through your normal VAT return process. Make sure your VAT number is included in your billing details.
Australia
Australian subscribers may be charged GST at 10%. If you are a GST-registered business, provide your ABN (Australian Business Number) in the billing details.
Other regions

Common questions
My invoice doesn't show VAT. Is that correct?
If you are an EU business with a valid VAT number, the reverse charge mechanism applies and VAT is not shown on the invoice. If you are outside the EU, VAT is generally not applicable. In both cases, a zero-VAT invoice is correct.
Can I change the billing details on a past invoice?
No. Invoices cannot be amended after they have been issued. Update your billing information before your next purchase to ensure future invoices are correct.
Where do I find my invoices?
Go to My subscription > Billing history. For more details, see Payments, invoices and errors.
I need a document that is not listed here
If your organization requires specific tax documentation (certificate of incorporation, proof of VAT registration, custom compliance forms), contact Customer Service with the details of what you need.
Does Freepik issue credit notes?
If a refund is processed, Freepik issues a corresponding credit note. It will appear in your Billing history alongside the original invoice.
